The Women’s Commissioner for the Ghana Muslim Students’ Association (GMSA), Miss Kafayat Salami has directed young ladies in GMSA to marry from within. She says this will minimize the incidence of marital challenges and divorce within the Muslim community.
Miss Kafayat said this at the just ended Central Committee meeting of the Ghana Muslims Students Association (GMSA) held at the University Of Ghana campus at Legon, Accra over the weekend, “I call on my fellow GMSA ladies to be focused in getting married to the men in the Association”, she advised.
The Women’s Commissioner also advised the ladies not to be so much interested in material things when making choice of husbands. She added that interest in materialism has made many women stranded in their marriages; meanwhile there are better and pious men in the Association that deserve these ladies.
“When we come together we learn very much from one another, and instead of us to make positive use of ourselves by getting married, we watch one another go out there and suffer in the hands of the untrained ones in society”.
Meanwhile, the Treasurer of GMSA for the University of Education – Winneba, Miss Mariam Siba has also pleaded with all the males in GMSA to maintain the good characters portrayed before marriages when the nikaah has been tied.
She lamented the attitude of some men who exhibit remarkable piety and good morals only to show their true colours after marrying the unsuspecting lady.
